That requires buying a new shaft with the softer flex to install in the clubhead. As Yannerson said, it is best to find a good Clubmaker in your area with whom you can work to be properly fit for the shaft and all other key parameters of the clubs.

If you cut your driver from 45.5 to 44 in length, you would have to add 9 swt points of lead tape on the head. When doing this, the lead tape is most typically put on the back of the head, applying it all the way around the back of the head.

Once you get to a point where your shot mistakes are a little more consistent, then the rest of the fitting elements become more important.

How can one who is developing their swing/changing their swing benefit from custom fitting? One day I hit straight. The next it's a slice. Then its a draw. I've noted that it's not the club. The details of how it is done, though, can really be impressive. Little things like adjusting swing path by weighting and balancing clubs properly. That can help reduce or eliminate slicing. You only get such details from a clubfitting professional who spends hours with you on the many details that go into really tailoring clubs to you.
